Sludge treatment
In the course of the past 20 years we have gained much experience and expertise in the field of sludge treatment, and in particular of the sludge left from wastewater treatment:
Organic sludge.
Inorganic sludge.
Sludge from biological treatment.
Hydroxide sludge.
Condensate from evaporation processes.
We are offering solutions for all stages of sludge treatment:
Thickening and concentration of sludge:
Following the removal of solids from wastewater using physical – chemical or biological methods, the sludge (mostly at a 0.5% – 2% concentration) has to be prepared for compression by means of a sludge thickening process.
The sludge thickening is based on the additional separation of water from the sludge in order to increase the concentration of solids and to decrease the amounts of sludge intended for thickening.
We are offering a variety of technologies for the sludge thickening:
Sludge compression:
The sludge produced by the wastewater treatment processes, even upon having undergone the sludge thickening, still mostly contains water.
For the purpose of reducing the costs of the sludge removal and of easing its transportation, it is customary to compress the sludge by mechanical means in order to obtain solid sludge that contains as low concentration of water as possible.
We are offering sludge compression systems based on the leading technologies:
Filter presses of all sizes, including full automation and complementary accessories.
Drum centrifuges by US Centrifuge.
Sludge drying:
Even following the sludge compression, water mostly remains the major component by weight.
If the cost of compressed sludge’s removal is high (many hundreds of NIS per ton of sludge), it is in many cases possible to dry the sludge further and to significantly reduce its weight.
We are offering sludge dryers by the Swiss manufacturer Watropur for organic and inorganic sludge.
The dryers based on the adiabatic drying technology that is more energy efficient with respect to other methods and is carried out at a temperature of about 50 degrees.
